Humana has added four retailers to its stand-alone Medicare Part D pharmacy network for 2021.
The company revealed that Kroger Health pharmacies, Publix Supermarket, and its pharmacies, as well as Costco and H-E-B, had been added to the network which will further increase 9500 pharmacy locations to its members’ networks.
The deal which will reportedly come into effect January 1, 2020, will enable Humana’s Medicare prescription drug plan members to access prescription drugs at the respective pharmacies at much lower prices. Humana’s Medicare prescription drug plan members have also been saving medicinal expenses on prescription drugs through the insurance companies’ deal with Walmart and Sam’s Club pharmacies.
Humana, founded in 1961 has become the nationals third largest insurance company over the years. The company aspires to provide better healthcare to its members at economical costs, lessening the burdens of an expensive healthcare system for many.
The deal between the two parties will certainly benefit the members of the health insurance company, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, making it easier to for its members to obtain prescription drugs from the nearest pharmacies.
