Hy-Vee said Wednesday it plans to order the W Nail Bar in early April to open its first store at the Hy-Vee supermarket in Bettendorf, Iowa. By the end of 2021, there are plans to open more nail salons in stores in eight states in the Midwest Market District for grocery stores.
The W Nail Bar is a full-service natural nail salon that offers various nail care services including manicure, pedicure, nail art, waxing and coloring. The Columbus, Ohio-based company has nine salons in Ohio, Virginia, Texas and Indiana and also offers its own line of completely handmade nail products, which Hy-Vee said will be available in some stores soon.

Hy-Vee stated that the nail bar adheres to strict cleaning and hygiene procedures in all salon areas as part of COVID-19 safety measures. The salon also promotes social distance by placing Plexiglass barriers between clients and technicians during manicure and pedicure services, limiting the client’s capacity to 50%, and providing contactless payments.
