Kroger is setting up new level and giving tough competition to its opponents by offering new opportunities to new suppliers. Kroger has just joined a few other retailers in launching a competition to find new suppliers.
The competition encourages local and regional farmers across new categories to apply online for the opportunity to participate in the Go Fresh & Local Provider Accelerator. Which will be held in Cincinnati in August. The Kroger category management team and team of new directors will review applications in multiple rounds. Selecting 15 finalists (one of the finalists per region for each category) to attend the event.
While, the award package for the five winners overall includes product placement on Kroger shelves. Recommended partnerships with sponsor Gourmet Foods International and training from Kroger’s trade and sales leaders. Now the program supports Kroger’s expansion of its new divisions, as well as its announced commitment. Last October to triple spending with diversified suppliers by 2030.
