With the help of the New Mexico, Public Education Department McDonald’s is distributing around 2000 copies of a book called Little Nita’s Big Idea. They distributed the books to kindergarten students in the following districts, Bernalillo, Alamogordo, Bloomfield, Cobre, Hondo, Portales, Santa Fe, Santa Rose, Ruidoso, and Taos. Mile Hi foods the Mcdonalds partner also contributed to the program by ensuring that more books could be purchased for the students.
Also, an English Language read-aloud of the book was hosted by Lt. Gov. Howie Morales and Literacy director at the public Education department Savero Martinez also hosted a read aloud in Spanish for use in Kindergarten classrooms where the books were distributed.
Matinez Said, that they are very excited to partner with Mcdonalds to distribute these books in Mexico in the hands of elementary students. He also added that some of the students never received a brand new book and it will help them to foster the love of reading for the children throughout their lives.
In the bilingual book, there is a girl who dreams of making the world’s largest fruit salad that book includes a celebration of community and diversity with the direction towards fresh and healthy foods.

As we know that families are facing problems this year, so they are very much excited to help them to spend time together in an educational way. She also added that they are well aware of the importance of education and its awareness among the people of New Mexico and it’s the top priority Mcdonald’s operator she added. To raise interest in reading and books Mcdonalds and NMPED provided brand new books to the people of New Mexico which would be very beneficial in the lives of the children.
