Recently, announced that it plans to cut hours at store locations across Texas as a major winter storm approaches the state. This announcement is made on the weather forecast and to make betterment for the families who have booked their appointments this week.

Here is what Kroger’s official website has said in terms of this announcement. “As families across much of the United States brace for a winter storm, expected to affect many southern and central states this week, Kroger stores in Texas and Louisiana will close stores early to ensure store employees are safe and off the road during a period, the chain said in a statement Sunday.

In this regard, Kroger has said that all 109 Kroger store locations in the Greater Houston area and SW Louisiana will operate with adjusted hours:

All Kroger Stores on Sunday, February 16th: All stores close at 8 pm. All Kroger Stores on Monday, February 17: All stores open at 9 AM

While at San Antonio-based grocery chain H-E-B has also reduced their hours in anticipation of the harsh winter weather. This closure is made in terms of safety and weather forecast predictions.

Furthermore, according to the prediction, the storm will bring freezing rain and cold temperatures to many parts of Texas for the next several days. The National Weather Service has issued winter storm warnings or hours for most Texas counties. The Houston area was projected to experience its coldest temperatures in 30 years.
