New offers reveal the renovation of the shopping centre “Kroger Disco”


Just in: the all-new “disco Kroger” designs have been released by the company and exciting new offers have been released for the planned renovation of Buckhead’s “Disco Kroger” shopping centre.


According to the Buckhead organizers which are expected on July 7 to hear a proposal to recreate the shopping centre on Piedmont Road. which is officially called Piedmont Peachtree Crossing. The on-site project has been talked about for over five years.

While, the plans comprise levelling the Kroger landmark, which earned the nickname “disco” for the famous Limelight Dance Club that occupied the site in the 1980s. In addition, the new 55,000-square-foot grocery store will be built in its place. It is not clear if Kroger will continue to hold the position. However, the other enhancements to the property would “recondition and renovate the existing shopping centre to modernize improvements. And improve the aesthetic appearance,” according to the application. Shows point to potential new tenants, like a beer garden. Existing tenants, such as Jamison Shaw Hairdressers, will get a classy exterior. The project will also slightly reduce on-site parking, from 522 to 498 places.

The then owner, but those plans never materialized, and Regency Centres, which now owns the property, acquired Equity One. The shopping centre was built in the seventies. Today, the 10-acre suburban-style estate sits adjacent to the towers of Buckhead’s Central Business District.

The Buckhead Development Review Committee (DRC) is scheduled to hear about the project at its meeting on July 7, according to Livable Buckhead’s agenda. So, let’s see when this project will be completed.
