Some Easy Tea-Time Snacks

Tea time has always been a special and most enjoyable part of the day for tea lovers and if it’s accompanied by some delicious snacks then this makes it even more. Here are some delicious snacks you’d love to have with tea. 

Garlic bread

Ingredients

  • Italian bread or long buns (2 pieces)
  • Butter (4 Tbs)
  • Chopped garlic (2 Tbs)
  • Thyme or mixed herbs (quarter tsp)

Method

Melt the butter and add chopped garlic and thyme in it and mix well. Cut the buns in Julian and apply this butter evenly on thin bun slices and put them in a preheated oven at 180^C for 8-10 mins or until light brown.

Potato nuggets

Ingredients

  • Boiled potatoes (6-7)
  • Flour (1 cup)
  • Semolina (1/2 cup)
  • Salt (1 tsp)
  • Black pepper (1/2 tsp)
  • Oil (for frying)

Method

Cut boiled potatoes into squares. Mix flour, semolina, salt, and black pepper in a        bowl. Put the potato squares in this mixture and cover from both sides and fry until golden brown. 

BBQ Chicken 

Ingredients

  • Chicken fillet (2 pieces)
  • BBQ sauce (2 Tbs)
  • Salt (1/2 tsp)
  • Red chili flakes (1/2 tsp)
  • Honey (1 Tbs)

Method

Boil the chicken first and then add BBQ sauce, salt, chili flakes, and honey in a bowl. Cover the boiled chicken in it and grill until golden. Serve with your favorite sauce. 

Fried mashed potatoes

Ingredients

  • Boiled potatoes -4
  • Milk (2-3 Tbs)
  • Unsalted Butter (1-2 Tbs)
  • Egg -1
  • Chopped garlic (2 Tbs)
  • Oil (3 Tbs)

Method

Mash the boiled potatoes with a masher and add salt, milk, and butter in it and mix well. Add an egg for binding if you need it. Make ovals of this potato mixture. Add garlic to the oil and roast them in it until golden.   

Crotons

Ingredients

  • Bread slices (5-6)
  • Butter (2 Tbs)
  • Chopped garlic (2-3 Tbs)

Method

Cut the bread slices into small squares or any desired shape. Add butter in a pan and sauté garlic, now add the bread pieces and cover them evenly with it. Bake them at 180^C for about 10 mins.

Crispy chicken sandwich

Ingredients

  • Chicken boneless (1 cup)
  • Ginger garlic paste (1/2 tsp)
  • Water (1/2 cup)
  • Mayonnaise (5 Tbs)
  • Salt (1/2 tsp)
  • Black pepper (1/2 tsp)
  • Red chili flakes (1/2 tsp)
  • Sweet corn (as required)
  • Mushrooms (a required)
  • Olives (as required)
  • Capsicum (as required)
  • Eggs (for coating)
  • Oil (for frying)
  • Bread crumbs 

Method

Cut the bread slices into circles or squares. And cut the chicken into small cubes then add ginger garlic paste, salt, chili flakes, and water in and let it boil until the chicken is tender and water is dried. Now in the mayonnaise, add some salt, black pepper, boiled chicken, capsicum, sweet corn, mushrooms, olives, and mix well. Spread on the bread and make a sandwich. Coat the sandwich in egg and bread crumbs and fry.

Cheese balls

Ingredients

  • Mozzarella cheese (250 gm)
  • White pepper (1/2 tsp)
  • Black pepper (1/2 tsp)
  • Boiled Potatoes (2-3)
  • Eggs -2
  • Salt (1 tsp)
  • Bread crumbs (as required)
  • Oil (for frying)

Method

Mash the boiled potatoes and add all the spices and mix well. Now make balls with the mixture filling them with shredded cheese. Coat them in egg and bread crumbs and fry until golden.

Lemon baked potatoes

Ingredients

  • Boiled potatoes (1/2 kg)
  • Red chili flakes (1 tsp)
  • Oil (4 Tbs)
  • Lemon juice (1/2 cup)
  • Salt (1/2 tsp)
  • Black pepper (1/2 tsp)
  • Chopped garlic (1 Tbs)
  • Oregano (2 Tbs)

Method

Boil the potatoes and cut them into long pieces. Add all the ingredients to them and mix well. Bake them at 180^C for 15 mins until golden brown.

Chicken tempura

Ingredients

  • Chicken boneless (2 cups)
  • Red chili (1 tsp)
  • Vinegar (1 Tbs)
  • Salt (1/2 tsp)
  • Finely chopped green chilies (1 tsp)
  • Oil (for frying)

For batter

  • Flour (1/2 cup)
  • Corn flour (3 Tbs)
  • Baking powder (1tsp)
  • Oil (2 Tbs)
  • Salt (1tsp)
  • Egg white -1
  • Cold Water (as required)

Method

Cut the chicken into strips and add vinegar, red chili, salt, green chili paste, oil, and marinate it for 30 mins. Now prepare the tempura batter by adding flour, cornflour, baking powder, salt, egg white and whisk it by adding cold water slowly to form a fine thick paste. Make sure the batter is not too thick. Coat the chicken in this batter and fry until golden.

Mozzarella cheese

Ingredients

  • Mozzarella cheese (8 ounces)
  • Eggs -2
  • Bread crumbs (as required)
  • Black pepper (quarter tsp)

Method

Cut the cheese into strips. Coat them in egg and then bread crumbs. Repeat the process for a thick covering to prevent the cheese from melting. Now put the coated sticks into the freezer for two hours. Fry them immediately for a few minutes.
