Walmart store in Socorro shut for disinfection amid infection concerns

A Walmart store in Socorro was suddenly shut Sunday evening as a result of worries about the flood of Covid-19 in the Borderland.

The store at 10301 Alameda Ave. will stay shut until 7 a.m. on Tuesday.

A representative from Walmart called it a piece of an “organization started program” that will consider additional time for a cleaning master to purify the store.

This is the third Walmart store to be incidentally shut as of late.

The west El Paso Sam’s Club shut Saturday and will stay shut until Monday morning.

Over seven days prior, the store at 5631 Dyer in Northeast El Paso went through a comparable conclusion.

The flood of Covid cases proceeds in El Paso and we are making another proactive move to guard our stores for partners and clients, said Anne Hatfield, a Walmart representative.
